A heartbreaking accident occurred last night in Maharashtra, leading to the death of a 55-year-old school principal. Suresh Sangrame, the principal of a Zilla Parishad school, tragically lost his life after his mobile phone exploded in his pocket while riding a motorcycle.

The incident took place near Sangadi in the Sakoli taluka on the road to Arjuni Morgaon. Sangrame was riding with 56-year-old Nathu Gaikwad, heading to a family gathering, when the explosion occurred. The phone, identified as a one-month-old CMF Phone 1, exploded in Sangrame’s pocket, causing a fire.

Gaikwad, who was a passenger on the bike, fell off and sustained serious injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment. Sangrame, who was driving, suffered severe burns from the explosion. Despite efforts to rush him for medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.

Possible Cause of Explosion

While the exact cause of the phone’s explosion is yet to be determined, initial investigations suggest it may have been due to an overheating battery. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details.

Mobile phone experts state that such incidents are rare but can occur due to battery malfunctions. Overcharging, using unauthorized chargers, or exposing phones to excessive heat are common factors that increase the risk of battery failure.
