CMF Phone 1 Receives Stable Nothing OS 3.0 Android 15 Update

Nothing has officially released the stable version of Nothing OS 3.0, based on Android 15, for the CMF Phone 1. The update brings a host of exciting features, design upgrades, and performance improvements.

Update Details

• Update Size:
  • 156 MB for beta users already running the Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta.
  • 1.44 GB for non-beta users upgrading from Nothing OS 2.6 (based on Android 14).

Key Features and Improvements

The stable Nothing OS 3.0 update enhances the overall experience with new features for personalisation, productivity, and multitasking.

1. Shared Widgets

• Widgets can now be shared with friends and family, allowing their widgets to appear on your home screen.
• Interact with these widgets using reactions for a more connected experience.
• Currently, only Photo Widgets (square) are supported, with plans to expand support for other widgets soon.

Note: Shared Widgets are still in beta, and some issues may arise. Nothing is working to improve this feature.

2. Lock Screen Upgrades

• New lock screen customisation page: Access it by long-pressing the lock screen or via the Customisation menu.
• A variety of new clock styles are now available.
• Expanded widget space lets users place more widgets on their lock screens.

3. Enhanced App Drawer

• The AI-powered Smart Drawer automatically categorises apps into folders, making navigation easier.
• You can now pin favourite apps to the top of the app drawer for quick access.

4. Improved Pop-up View

• Drag the pop-up window anywhere on the screen for better multitasking.
• Resize the window by dragging the corners.
• Pin the pop-up view to the screen edge for easy access.
• Swipe down notifications to open them in a pop-up view without leaving your current app. (Enable this via Settings > Special features > Pop-up view.)

5. Refined Design

• Quick Settings have been redesigned for easier shortcut customisation.
• A new widget library lets you browse both Nothing Widgets and third-party options.
• Settings UI now displays live network and Bluetooth connections for better clarity.
• New dot animations for fingerprint unlocking and charging add a fun visual touch.

6. Performance and Other Features

• AI learns usage habits to keep frequently used apps active for smoother performance.
• The lock screen charging display now shows the charging speed for better convenience.
• Auto-archive support frees up storage without removing apps or data.
• Partial screen sharing allows recording specific app windows instead of the entire screen.
• An updated setup wizard (version 3.0) ensures a seamless onboarding process.
• Predictive back animations are enabled for supported apps to make navigation smoother.

How to Update

The update is rolling out in phases, so some users may receive it sooner than others. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > System > System Update.
