Honor is reportedly getting ready to launch the Magic V Flip 2, the successor to its first clamshell foldable, which debuted in June 2024. According to a new leak from China, the official unveiling could take place in August 2025.

Specs and Design Details

The Magic V Flip 2 is expected to retain the same display sizes as the original model. It will feature a 6.8-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED main display and a 4-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED cover screen. Both screens are designed to offer smooth performance and power efficiency.

In terms of cameras, the device will likely come with a dual rear camera setup, including a 50MP main sensor with a 1/1.5″ sensor size- the same configuration seen in the first Magic V Flip.

Performance and Battery

The most noticeable upgrade will be in the processor. The Magic V Flip 2 will use a Snapdragon 8 series chipset. However, it won’t be the top-tier Elite version, and the exact model is still unknown.

The battery capacity is also getting a bump. The new phone will come with a 5,500mAh battery, which is larger than the previous version. It will support either 66W or 80W fast wired charging, offering quick top-ups for daily use.

Not a Major Upgrade

While the Magic V Flip 2 brings a few improvements, especially in performance and battery life, the update overall seems modest. The design, screen size, and camera hardware may stay largely the same.

We expect to learn more in the coming weeks as the rumored August launch window gets closer.
