Nothing has introduced a new widget that brings the iconic Snake game to its phones. This nostalgic addition, developed in collaboration with community members Rahul Janardhanan and Thomas Legendre, is now available for download via the Play Store in India.

The Snake Game Widget lets users enjoy a classic gaming experience directly from their home screens. Rahul Janardhanan, known for his creative widget concepts, teamed up with Thomas Legendre, who has contributed to projects like Ear (web) and the Simone Glyph Game, to develop this feature.

How to Download and Use the Widget:

  1. Install the Widget: Download the Nothing Community Widgets app from the Play Store.
  2. Add it to Your Home Screen: Once installed, add the Snake Game Widget to your home screen.
  3. Troubleshooting: If the widget doesn’t appear, update the Nothing Launcher. Users on the Nothing OS 3.0 beta may need to reboot their phones.

The widget is available to all Nothing users in India and is designed in a single size (2×2). While the compact size might feel small for some, future updates could bring size customization. Notably, the widget works independently of the Nothing OS 3.0 update.

This initiative aligns with Nothing’s goal of encouraging community-driven features. By bundling these widgets into a single app, Nothing offers users more ways to personalize their devices. The company is actively inviting contributions, hinting that the next popular widget might come from its users.

As the tech world waits for the stable release of Nothing OS 3.0 later this month, features like the Snake Game Widget showcase Nothing’s commitment to blending nostalgia with innovation.
