Nothing has released a new update for its Nothing Gallery app, and it seems to be a big one. The update size is 41MB, which suggests some important changes. But what exactly is new in this update? Let’s find out.

How to Update the Nothing Gallery App

To get this update, go to the Google Play Store, tap on your profile, then go to My Apps & Games. If the update is available, you will see it under the Updates section. You can also search for “Nothing Gallery” in the Play Store to find the update manually.

What’s New in the Update?

Surprisingly, the official “What’s New” section in the Play Store does not mention any major changes. However, after updating, one noticeable change is in the video playback feature.

New Video Playback Change

  • The seek bar (the bar that shows video progress) has been redesigned.
  • Previously, it looked different and allowed easy forward and backward scrolling.
  • Now, the new version has a simpler seek bar design.

Other than this, no major changes are visible in the app. The editing feature is still missing, meaning users will still need Google Photos for editing.

Is This Update a Joke?

Some users feel that Nothing may have released this update as a prank, possibly related to April Fool’s Day, because the update doesn’t bring any major improvements.

What About Future Updates?

The Nothing Gallery app still lacks full features like editing, and it feels like an unfinished product. However, Nothing might release the final version when the Nothing Phone (3) series launches, possibly around June or July.

For now, if you own a Nothing Phone (2a) or older, you cannot set Nothing Gallery as the default gallery app. Only the upcoming Nothing Phone (3) series is expected to have it as the default.

Final Thoughts

This update might not be as big as expected, but it does improve some aspects of the app, like video playback. Hopefully, Nothing will bring more features soon, especially photo editing tools.
