Finally, Nothing OS 2.6 Update Released for Nothing Phone (1) with July 2024 Security Patch

Nothing OS 2.6 update has been rolled out for Nothing Phone (1) and its going to be very interesting update as new features and improvements are included. Users were saying how late the Nothing Phone (1) was getting updates. Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a) had theirs already, so now it’s time for Nothing Phone (1).

Unlike in the past, Nothing has pushed any notifications for this update. For you to get this update, you have to manually check in your settings. Settings > scroll down to System > System Update > Check for updates. It is 85.67 MB in size, with new features—new game mode, bug fixes, etc.

You definitely will notice a lot of improvements after the update. The installation process is very fast; it should take something like around 5-10 minutes. It took 11 minutes for me. Then the phone restarts, and you’re good to go.

This new update brings a total of four new wallpapers, which can be found in the personalization section under “More Wallpapers.” Another addition is support for wallpaper history editing within Wallpaper Studio. Now, you will be able to delete the wallpapers created.

The security patch has also been updated to July 1, 2024. Another exciting feature is the new gaming mode. It has a performance mode that gives priority to performance over power efficiency to enhance your gaming experience. You can get into game mode by tapping the left sidebar during games. This mode has managing calls, notifications, brightness lock, and screen recording options.
