Nothing has officially launched the Nothing Phone (4a) in India. It is the company’s latest mid-range smartphone and comes as the successor to last year’s Phone (3a). The new model brings improvements in display, performance, camera and battery life.
Display and Performance
The Nothing Phone (4a) have large 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports up to 4500 nits peak brightness, making it easy to use outdoors.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor with up to 12GB RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. According to Nothing, the device also includes improved VC cooling for better performance during gaming and heavy tasks.
Software and Features
The smartphone runs Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.1 out of the box. Nothing has promised 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security updates, similar to earlier models.
It also keeps the Essential Key, now placed on the left side, along with support for Essential Space features.
Glyph Design
The Phone (4a) continues with Nothing’s signature Glyph lights. This time, it features a single Glyph Bar design with 63 mini-LEDs arranged in seven sections. The company says it is up to 40% brighter than previous versions and offers better light control.
Camera and Design
The phone comes with a triple rear camera setup:
- 50MP main camera with OIS (Samsung GN9 sensor)
- 8MP ultra-wide camera
- 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, OIS, 7x lossless zoom and up to 70x ultra zoom
For selfies, the device has a 32MP front camera with support for 4K video recording.
The phone keeps its transparent design, but now features a pill-shaped aluminium camera bar. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and comes with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Nothing also says the Phone (4a) is about 34% stronger against bending than its predecessor.
Battery
The Indian version packs a 5400mAh battery, while the global model has a slightly smaller battery. It supports 50W wired fast charging, which can charge the phone up to 50% in around 22 minutes and fully in about 56 minutes. There is no wireless charging support.
Price and Availability
The Nothing Phone (4a) is available in Pink, White, Black and Blue colours. Pricing in India is:
- 8GB + 128GB: Rs. 31,999
- 8GB + 256GB: Rs. 34,999
- 12GB + 256GB: Rs. 37,999
The phone will go on sale starting March 12 via Flipkart, Flipkart Minutes, Vijay Sales, Croma and other retail stores.
Nothing will also host a special first drop at the Nothing Store Bengaluru on March 7 at 6 PM, where the first 100 buyers will get an engraved edition and complimentary Ear (a).
