Samsung Introduces Quantum5 Smartphone Featuring Advanced Security through Quantum Technology
Samsung has introduced a smartphone that is the Galaxy Quantum5 which was developed in collaboration with SK Telecom exclusively for the South Korean market. This means the device cannot be purchased outside of South Korea. The phone is made possible with the other partnership of ID Quantique (IDQ). The company is responsible for the advanced quantum cryptographic chip.
The key feature of the chip is its Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip. This chip uses quantum physics to produce truly random numbers for encrypting and decrypting sensitive data like biometrics and passwords. Unlike traditional random number generators the QRNG chip ensures higher security by reducing the risk of external influence or tampering.
Aside from its QRNG chip, the Galaxy Quantum5 shares most of its specifications with the Galaxy A55. It has an aluminum frame, glass front and back body with IP67 ingress protection, 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and stereo speakers, 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 5MP macro camera on the back. The Galaxy Quantum5 comes with an Exynos 1480 processor, supported by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. It has a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging capabilities.
The Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 comes in three vibrant colors: Awesome Ice Blue, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy, with a price tag of KRW 618,200 (approximately INR 38,772).
