Samsung Might Switch to Sony for S26 Ultra’s Main Camera
Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is expected to launch in January. A new rumor from China suggests that the phone could come with a major camera improvement.
The main camera may use a new 200 MP sensor made by Sony. This sensor is said to be 1/1.1″ in size, making it the first of its kind from the Japanese company with such a high resolution.
Currently, the Galaxy S25 Ultra uses Samsung’s own 200 MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor, which is slightly smaller at 1/1.3″. The larger Sony sensor would allow more light to enter, which could lead to better and brighter photos.
However, there is some uncertainty. According to the rumor, Samsung might decide to save this new Sony sensor for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, expected in 2027. So, while the S26 Ultra might get the upgrade, it’s not fully confirmed yet.
