WhatsApp Beta Tests New Event Duration Feature for Community Chats on Android

Published

WhatsApp

One of the new features WhatsApp is now developing will allow users to indicate the event duration in group chats within community groups. This is featured in the beta version 2.24.17.11 for Android.

WhatsApp Event Duration Feature

Events, the communities feature, was rolled out in May and began hitting group chats in June for beta users. They could also add a location and a link for a WhatsApp call. What’s New lets community group members set a specific start and end time for their events.

This addition is expected to be especially useful in communities where organizing multiple events is common. While there is no word yet about when WhatsApp intends to open this feature up to its millions of users around the globe, Android users who are eager for it can easily register into the beta program.

OnePlus 11 April OxygenOS 2025 Update

The OnePlus 11 5G is getting the OxygenOS 15 April 2025 update. The update comes with the software version CPH2447_15.0.0.800(EX01) and has a download size of 937.15 MB. It brings several new features, improvements, and bug fixes to enhance the overall user experience.

What’s New in this update?

One of the major additions in this update is partial screen recording. Users can now choose a specific area of the screen to record, rather than recording the entire screen. This is useful for making focused tutorials or short clips without showing everything on the display.

The update also adds support for file sharing between the OnePlus 11 and Mac devices. You can now view your phone files directly on your Mac and easily transfer files between the two devices. This improves interconnection and makes file management more convenient for users who use both platforms.

Another new feature is the stack view layout for the Recent Tasks screen. This can give a cleaner and more organized look when switching between apps. If you prefer the old style, you can disable this feature by going to Settings > Home screen & Lock screen > Recent tasks manager.

In addition, the update improves gesture recognition for floating windows, making them easier to close. It also enhances the visual appearance by adding better shadow effects around these floating windows, giving a smoother and more polished look.

Lastly, the update includes the April 2025 Android security patch, which helps improve system security and keep your device protected.

If you own a OnePlus 11, it’s recommended to check for the new update by going to Settings > System > System Updates and install it for the latest improvements.

OnePlus 11 Bug? My Photos Disappear After I Take Them

OnePlus 11 Photo Save Issue

I’ve recently noticed a strange issue with my OnePlus 11. A few times, I’ve taken a photo—usually to remember something important—and while the shutter sound goes off and it looks like the photo was taken, it never appears in my gallery.

What’s even more confusing is that I clearly remember the photo being captured, but it just vanishes. This has been happening occasionally since the beginning of this year.

I’m not sure what’s causing the problem. It could be a bug in the camera app, an issue with the gallery, or something deeper in the system software. So far, I haven’t seen any official response from OnePlus about this.

If anyone else is facing the same issue, I’d recommend keeping your phone updated and trying a third-party gallery app to check if the photo gets saved elsewhere. Clearing the camera or gallery cache might help too.

CMF Phone 2 Pro First update final

The CMF Phone 2 Pro has officially launched, and it comes with its first software update – Nothing OS 3.2. I received the device before launch and had been using it with pre-release software. While some features like Private Space, Hotspot Manager, and separate App Lock passwords were already available earlier, this update brings further performance improvements and system optimizations.

There are also small but useful changes in the Essential Space, such as the ability to edit reminder details like date and time, which were already present before this final rollout. This was push through Google Play Store.

CMF Phone 2 Pro first update

The new update is quite large, with a size of 0.96GB, and has the build number Galaga-V3.2-250425-1517-IND. It focuses on optimizing the phone’s performance and stability, making it smoother and more responsive during daily use.

The update includes general performance boosts, such as smoother app launches thanks to optimised launcher animations, improved scrolling in the Google News Feed, and better adaptive brightness adjustment. The three-finger screenshot gesture is now more fluid, and the overall system stability has been improved.

The update also improves the camera experience. Photos now have more accurate colours and better clarity, while 4K videos at 30fps are sharper and clearer. The camera now performs better under heavy usage, which will be useful for users who shoot a lot of photos or videos.

Even though many features were already present before launch, this official software update ensures that all retail units of the CMF Phone 2 Pro will deliver a more polished and stable experience right out of the box.
