Moto G96 5G Specs Revealed Ahead of July 9 India Launch
Motorola is getting ready to launch its new smartphone, the Moto G96 5G, in India on July 9, 2025, at 12 PM. Ahead of the official launch, the phone’s full specifications and features have been revealed through its Flipkart landing page.
Powerful Chipset and Storage Options
The Moto G96 5G will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, which Motorola claims offers segment-leading performance. It will come in two storage options: 8GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM + 256GB. With virtual RAM support, users can access up to 24GB of dynamic RAM. The phone will run on Android 15 out of the box and will receive three years of security updates.
Stunning Curved Display
The smartphone will feature a 6.67-inch 3D curved pOLED display with several advanced features such as Display Color Boost, 10-bit color, 100% DCI-P3 color accuracy, 1600 nits brightness, SGS eye protection, and Gorilla Glass 5. It will also support a smooth 144Hz refresh rate for a better viewing experience.
AI Camera with Sony Sensor
For photography, the Moto G96 5G will include a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and AI Photo Enhancement powered by Moto AI. On the front, there will be a 32MP selfie camera, promising sharp and clear selfies.
Long Battery Life
The phone will be backed by a 5500mAh battery, and Motorola claims it will offer up to 42 hours of regular use. It also supports 32 hours of video playback, 35 hours of talk time, and 119 hours of music playback.
Audio, Security, and Design
Additional features include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, along with Motorola’s software suite like Smart Connect, Cross Device Search, Swipe to Stream, and Family Space 3.0. It also offers ThinkShield Protection 3.0 and Moto Secure 3.0 for added privacy and safety.
The IP68-rated body protects the phone from dust and water, and Water Touch Technology allows touch controls even with wet hands. The phone will have a Vegan Leather finish and will be available in Blue, Purple, and Green color options.

The Moto G96 5G will launch on Flipkart as an exclusive product, and full pricing and sale details will be announced at the event on July 9.

Motorola Update Policy
Generally, Motorola offers three Android updates for its high-end Edge and Razr phones starting in 2023. Older phones, however, only have two. More budget-oriented lines of Moto G usually get two OS updates, while the entry-level E series only gets one.
Android 15 Expected Rollout
Android 15 is approaching its stable release, marking the final phase of the platform stability process before the OS release. As per schedule, Google traditionally rolls out a stable version of the new OS around October, following the beta clocks of the previous year.
While Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, and Vivo have already announced their Android 15 beta programs, Motorola is yet to make any announcement regarding participation. Motorola’s Edge 50 Neo appeared in renders last week, and now the Moto S50 (XT2309-5) has been certified on China’s TENAA regulatory base. The Moto S50 is believed to be the same device as the Edge 50 Neo, but for the Chinese market.
The Moto S50 features 6.36-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution. The refresh rate of the display has not been specified. The phone also includes a 32MP front-facing camera and a triple rear camera setup. This setup consists of 50MP main shooter, 13MP ultrawide lens, and 10MP telephoto lens (3x optical zoom).
The Moto S50 comes with a chipset featuring a 2.5GHz base core frequency which may turn out to be the Dimensity 7300.
The phone’s dimensions are 154.1×71.2×8.1mm, and it weighs 172 grams. The Moto S50 also packs a 4,310 mAh battery, which is expected to support 68W charging. The Moto S50 is expected to launch in China in the coming weeks.
