Three days ago, Nothing started rolling out the Nothing OS 4.0 stable update for the CMF Phone 1. At that time, the company also confirmed that the CMF Phone 2 Pro would receive the update in the coming weeks as part of a phased rollout.
Now, the wait is finally over. CMF Phone 2 Pro users have started receiving the Nothing OS 4.0 stable update, powered by Android 16.
The update size is 2.19 GB, so users are advised to connect to Wi-Fi and back up important data before installing the update.
What’s New in Nothing OS 4.0 on CMF Phone 2 Pro
The update brings several new features and improvements to enhance daily usage. One of the major additions is the AI usage dashboard, which shows how AI features are being used, offering better transparency and privacy control.
Users can now hide apps directly from the home screen and app drawer, making the interface cleaner. The app drawer search has also been improved, allowing users to manage the search scope more easily.
Widget customization has been expanded, with more size options for Weather, Pedometer, and Screen Time widgets. Most Quick Settings tiles now support a 2×2 size, giving users more flexibility.
The pop-up view feature now supports two floating icons, making app switching smoother. System performance has also been improved with app optimisation, which helps apps launch faster. Additionally, users can now set different ringtones for dual SIMs.
New Essential Innovations
Nothing OS 4.0 also introduces Playground (Alpha), where users can explore community creations such as Essential Apps, Camera Presets, and EQ profiles. Along with this, Essential Apps (Alpha) are now available for download, offering AI-powered tools created by the community.
Rollout Status
The update is being rolled out in phases, so availability may vary by region. Users can check for the update by going to Settings > System Update on their CMF Phone 2 Pro.
With this rollout, Nothing has now delivered Nothing OS 4.0 to both CMF Phone 1 and CMF Phone 2 Pro, completing the promised update timeline.
