Google Dialer New UI and Calling Card feature

Google has rolled out a new update for its Phone app (Google Dialer), which is available on Nothing Phones, some OnePlus devices, and other Android smartphones. The update brings a redesigned user interface and a brand-new feature called Calling Card.

Redesigned User Interface

The latest version of the Google Dialer comes with a refreshed look inspired by Android 16’s design. The call history page, calling screen, and incoming call screen have all been updated. Users will now notice bigger buttons for the keypad, mute, and speaker options, making it easier to use. Animations have also been added to the calling screen, such as circular effects while a call is connecting, which stop once the call is answered.

Google has also introduced a new option for incoming call gestures. Instead of only swiping to answer or reject, users can now enable a single-tap gesture for quick response. This makes handling calls faster and more convenient.

Calling Card Feature

One of the most exciting additions is the Calling Card feature. With this, users can customize how their contact photo and details appear during calls. You can upload a profile picture from your camera, gallery, or Google Photos, adjust its position, zoom in or out, and even customize fonts and colors.

This feature allows each contact to have a unique look when calling, making the experience more personal and visually appealing.

Availability

Currently, the update has been spotted on Nothing Phone (2a) and is gradually rolling out to more devices, including other Nothing Phones and select OnePlus models. Since the update is still in beta, not all users will see the new features immediately.

To try the new design and features, users need to:

  1. Update the Phone by Google app via the Play Store.
  2. Join the Google Dialer beta program to access the latest version.
  3. Update the Google Contacts app for full functionality.

The new update is being rolled out in stages, so some users may need to wait a little longer before they see the Calling Card option and redesigned UI on their phones.

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Ace 6 will be officially launched in China on October 27, alongside the brand-new OnePlus Pad 2. While the China launch date is confirmed, OnePlus has not yet officially announced when these devices will be available in India. However, the Amazon India teaser page suggests that “something special” is planned for October 29, which indicates that the Indian launch could follow very soon after the China debut.

OnePlus 15 Coming Soon

Early teasers and images reveal that the OnePlus 15 will be available in two colour options: Sand Storm and Black. The design appears minimal and clean, continuing the company’s tradition of sleek, modern flagship devices. The phone is expected to offer top-of-the-line specifications, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The global model will run OxygenOS 16, based on the latest version of Android, ensuring a smooth and feature-rich user experience.

Fans in India are eagerly awaiting more details about pricing, availability, and additional features. With the teaser hinting at a special event on October 29, it seems likely that Indian users will soon get a closer look at these new OnePlus devices, continuing the brand’s tradition of launching high-performance smartphones that combine elegant design with powerful hardware.

CMF Phone 1 September 2025 update

Nothing has released a new OTA update for the CMF Phone 1. This update is based on Nothing OS 3.2 (September patch) and mainly focuses on improving system performance and fixing minor bugs. Even though it’s already October, the company has rolled out the September update for CMF Phone 1 users.

The update size is 63.90 MB, and it installs successfully in about 10 minutes. After installing, users can see the updated build number ending with 18843-ID. The Android security patch is dated September 1, 2025, and matches the latest Google Play system update once updated manually.

What’s New in This Update

  1. Photo Widget Improvement:
The photo widget now fills the full space when resized to a 4×2 format, making it look more complete on the home screen.
  2. Media Player Bug Fixes:
Issues related to album cover and song info display in the media player and widget have been fixed. Users can now see correct song details and album art while using apps like Spotify.
  3. System Stability Improvements:
Overall system stability and smoothness have been slightly optimized, though most users won’t notice a major difference.

Why This Update Matters

This is likely a preparation update before the major Nothing OS 4.0 rollout. Currently, Nothing OS 4.0 has been released for Nothing Phone (2), Phone (2a), Phone (2a) Plus, and Phone (3). However, the CMF Phone 1 and CMF Phone 2 Pro are not part of the open beta program.

According to Nothing’s official community post, both devices will directly receive the stable Nothing OS 4.0 update later, instead of joining the beta phase.

When Will CMF Phone 1 Get Nothing OS 4.0?

Nothing has confirmed that CMF Phone 1 will get the stable Nothing OS 4.0 update at a later date, possibly between November and December 2025. This upcoming update is expected to bring Android 16-based features, design changes, and performance improvements.

The problem where the Glyph lights didn’t turn off properly after using the Flip to Record feature has now been fixed.
