Nothing has started rolling out a new update for the Nothing Gallery app, along with a December security update for the Nothing Phone (1). The updates focus mainly on small UI improvements, bug fixes, and overall stability.
Nothing Gallery App Update: What’s New?
The latest Nothing Gallery update v2.3.55.1222 brings minor but noticeable changes. Users will see:
- A new Gallery app icon, matching the latest Nothing OS design style
- Small UI refinements for a cleaner look
- Bug fixes and performance improvements
The update size is very small (around 120 KB), which confirms that this is a polish-focused update rather than a feature-heavy one.
Inside the app, most things remain the same. There are no new AI features yet, but the image cut-out feature is still available. One important fix is in the photo details (info) page, where the phone model name is now shown correctly. Earlier, some photos did not display the correct device name.
This Gallery update is currently available for Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2). Other Nothing phones are expected to receive it soon.
Nothing Phone (1) December Update Details
Along with the app update, Nothing has also released a new OTA system update for the Nothing Phone (1).
Key details:
- Update size: 87.29 MB
- Security patch: December 2025
- Changes: General improvements and bug fixes
- Nothing OS version remains Nothing OS 3.2
- Build number: Spacewar-V3.2-251219-1652
The installation takes around 10 minutes, depending on device usage and battery level.
Software Support Status of Nothing Phone (1)
Nothing has confirmed that the Nothing Phone (1) will not receive Nothing OS 4.0. The device will stay on Android 15, which is its final Android version. However, Nothing is still providing regular security updates through a testing and stabilization program.
Security patches are expected to continue for some time, with the next update likely arriving in February 2026.
Performance After the Update
After installing the update, the phone feels mostly stable for normal daily use. Camera performance remains good, and photo quality is still strong. However, slight warming and occasional delays can happen immediately after updating, which is normal. Users are advised to let the phone cool down before heavy usage.
Final Words
Even though the Nothing Phone (1) is nearing the end of its major update cycle, Nothing is still ensuring security, stability, and a smooth user experience. The new Gallery app update and December security patch show that the company has not completely moved on from its first smartphone.
