Nothing has started rolling out the Nothing OS 4.1 March update for the Nothing Phone (4a). The update size is around 601 MB and brings several new features, visual improvements, camera upgrades, and the latest March 2026 security patch.
New Features
The update introduces a new Breathing Break widget, which offers guided breathing exercises to help users relax. It also adds Live Updates, allowing real-time tracking from supported apps directly on the lock screen, notification panel, and Glyph Interface. Additionally, the status bar now shows a dedicated icon when Nothing headphones are connected.
Glyph & Essential Features
Nothing has redesigned the Essential Notifications settings UI for a cleaner look. A new Generative ringtone feature is also included, offering unique sounds and Glyph patterns for calls and notifications.
The Essential Space interface has been improved with a cleaner layout, new “For You” and “Library” sections, event organization tools, and built-in search for quicker access.
Visual Improvements
The update brings the Phone (3a) Community Edition lock screen clock style, co-created with Jad Zock. It also adds Depth Effect (Beta) support for lock screen customization, adjustable clock alignment and sizes, and a blur effect on the password page. Dual network signals are now combined into a single status bar icon for a cleaner look.
Camera Enhancements
Camera improvements include Playground Sync for easy preset import, a new Amber portrait preset for cinematic tones, and auto-dimming during video recording to save battery. Image quality has also been improved with better exposure, color accuracy, and HDR processing.
General Improvements
Nothing OS 4.1 also brings better network stability, smoother performance, improved dual-SIM instructions, and fixes for some display issues in Quick Settings and the status bar. The update includes the March 2026 security patch.
