Nothing Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus Receive December 2025 Nothing OS 4.0 Update

Nothing has started rolling out the December 2025 Nothing OS 4.0 update for the Nothing Phone (2a) and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. The update comes with an update size of 304 MB and focuses mainly on visual improvements, bug fixes, and overall system stability.

What’s New in This Update

Visual Improvements

The update brings a few noticeable visual changes. The battery percentage is now shown inside the battery icon, making it easier to check at a glance. Nothing has also improved the smoothness of the volume slider animation when using the volume buttons. In addition, Extra Dark Mode has been optimized, so it adapts better to different situations and lighting conditions.

General Improvements and Bug Fixes

Nothing OS 4.0 now supports different ringtones for dual SIM cards, which is a useful addition for users who use two numbers. The update also improves vibration and haptic feedback, making interactions feel more refined.

Camera performance has been improved as well, with better preview stability in Photo mode, especially while zooming. Several display-related issues in the status bar, Quick Settings, and notifications have been fixed to improve visual consistency.

The update also fixes an issue where the back gesture preview stopped working after switching gesture navigation modes. Wi-Fi performance has been improved too, with faster searching for nearby available networks.

System and Security Updates

Nothing has enhanced the overall system stability and smoothness in this update. Google Mobile Services (GMS) have been updated to the December 2025 version, and the phones now include the December 2025 Android security patch, improving device security.

The December 2025 Nothing OS 4.0 update is rolling out gradually. If you haven’t received it yet, you can check manually by going to Settings → System Update.
