Nothing OS 2.6 September Update for Nothing Phone (2)
In this update, the Nothing Phone (2) is getting many features that add to user convenience and expand device capabilities. Users will now be able to swipe down on an incoming notification to open it in a pop-up view, thereby enabling users to view information without exiting their active apps. One could activate this feature via Settings > System > Pop-up view.
Other changes include the ability to configure settings for vibration when third-party apps call during a call. In addition, there are new battery and pedometer widgets, now supported on both the lock screen and Always On Display.
The update also brings the News Reporter Widget, currently in beta, which will read the day’s news stories out loud in the voice of Tim, Nothing’s CFO. It uses AI models to read out the news.
This includes refined system functionalities, while it also brings some refined ringtone volumes when getting a call, fast toggles for enabling and disabling Bluetooth connectivity, and correct information being displayed in the Bluetooth settings regarding the earbuds. The massive update also carries the September Security Patch.
It fixes everything from how wallpaper previews appear and network-specific calling issues to emergency calls to the police, while also fixing a bug in the media player widget that caused problems playing music and auto-rotation issues with cloned apps.
