Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Adopt S26 Note Name, S26+ to Be Rebranded as S26 Pro

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

People over the internet are very furious over Google’s new naming scheme for its smartphones, even though the naming actually makes a lot of sense. Google now has the base Pixel 9, two Pixel 9 Pro versions in different sizes, and a Pro Fold. Given how much of a premium the foldable commands are, excluding the “Pro” label here would have been a surprise.

An X tipster has suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might not carry the “Ultra” label. Instead, Samsung could rename it to Galaxy S26 Note and highlight its inbuilt S Pen.

But that’s not all, as the Galaxy S26+ might be renamed the Galaxy S26 Pro. At this point, one certainly starts to feel that Samsung might be considering joining the very trend for “Pro” models, which is currently absent from its mobile portfolio.

However, this is just a rumor at the moment. The source of the leak goes on to say that Samsung has not made any final decision yet and is simply considering these names.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 Expected to Arrive with One UI 8 Based on Android 16

Samsun Galaxy Z Fold 7 render

Samsung is planning to launch its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 phones with the latest One UI 8 software right out of the box. This new version of Samsung’s software will be based on Android 16.

Last year, Samsung faced criticism for the slow rollout of One UI 7. Many users had to wait for over six months after Android 15 was released to get the stable update. But according to a new report from SamMobile, Samsung is looking to improve things this time.

Google usually releases new Android versions in the second half of the year. The new Galaxy foldable phones are expected to launch between late July and early August, so the timing matches well.

Android 16

This move is a bit surprising, as Samsung usually ships new phones with the current version of One UI and adds new features later. If the Fold 7 and Flip 7 launch with One UI 8, it could also mean that the Galaxy S24 and the upcoming Galaxy S25 series might get the One UI 8 update earlier than expected.

Google is expected to release the stable version of Android 16 around June or July this year. This means Samsung might launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 just a few days or weeks after Android 16 becomes official.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to be revealed at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025. While full details are yet to be confirmed, leaks and rumors have started to stir excitement. The latest speculation points to a potential partnership between Samsung and Google.

Free Gemini Advanced Subscription with Galaxy S25 Series?

A recent teardown of the Google app (version 15.52.37 beta) by Android Authority has uncovered clues suggesting that Samsung might include free Gemini Advanced subscriptions with the Galaxy S25 series. This means that when purchasing a Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, or S25 Ultra, users could get a free trial of Google’s Gemini Advanced AI service.

According to the report, the length of the free trial might vary depending on the model:

  • Galaxy S25: Three months of free Gemini Advanced
  • Galaxy S25 Plus: Six months of free Gemini Advanced
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra: One year of free Gemini Advanced

  • While this information is based on code found in the app and hasn’t been officially confirmed, the offer sounds promising. If true, it would follow Samsung’s previous collaboration with Circle to Search on the Galaxy S24 series.

Additional Features of the Galaxy S25 Series

In addition to the possible Gemini Advanced trial, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to feature enhanced AI capabilities thanks to the latest One UI 7 operating system. Other rumored features include practical additions like Car Crash Detection, which would improve user safety.

Launch Date?

As the launch date nears, more details about the Galaxy S25 series are expected to surface. Based on current leaks, the release is likely to happen on January 22, 2025, with more updates expected in the coming weeks.

While the leak doesn’t include a white version but it’s expected to be available once the phone is officially released.

The Galaxy S24 FE looks almost identical to its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 FE. Even the LED flash is positioned exactly the same as it was on the Galaxy S23 FE.

One of the main differences in the S24 FE is its flat aluminum frame. The side bezels will be approximately 1.99 mm thick, and the back will be made of glass. The display will be 6.7-inch Full HD+ resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,900 nits. It will also be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ on top. Powering the device will be an underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 chipset.

The device will have a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultrawide camera, and an 8 MP 3x telephoto camera. The Galaxy S24 FE will support 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The Galaxy S23 FE was launched in October of last year, and it seems likely that the Galaxy S24 FE could follow a similar release schedule this year.
