Apple’s upcoming iPhone Air 2 may launch earlier than expected, according to a new rumor. Earlier reports had suggested that Apple delayed the device to spring 2027 due to weak sales of the first iPhone Air. However, fresh information now points to a 2026 release.
The latest claim comes from tipster Fixed Focus Digital, who shared details on Weibo. According to the tipster, the iPhone Air 2 is confirmed to launch at Apple’s fall iPhone event in September 2026, bringing the device back on schedule.
At the same time, the tipster says that the iPhone 17e is still planned for a spring launch and has already entered the mass production stage.
Earlier reports had suggested that Apple would introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone in September 2026. Meanwhile, the iPhone Air 2, along with the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 17e, was expected to launch later in spring 2027. This new rumor changes that timeline.
As for features, the iPhone Air 2 is rumored to come with a dual rear camera setup, a larger battery, vapor chamber cooling for better performance, and a lower price compared to the previous model.
As always, Apple has not officially confirmed any of these details, so it’s best to take this information with caution until an official announcement is made.
