Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition

Nothing is set to expand its smartphone lineup with the launch of the Phone (2a) Community Edition on October 30, 2024. The launch event is scheduled for 16:30 IST, where the new edition will be unveiled during the brand’s next Quarterly Update.

Nothing Community Spirit

Since its initial release in March, the Nothing Phone (2a) has been available in basic White and Black colors. Following the success of these models, Nothing introduced the Blue Edition and Special Edition, as well as an improved version known as the Phone (2a) Plus.

The latest in this series, the Community Edition, features a distinctive design element: it lights up green in the dark, thanks to a luminescent material on the back of the phone, enhancing visibility and aesthetics at night.

The Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition is expected to be available in limited quantities, making it a coveted item among tech enthusiasts. Regarding pricing, it is anticipated to be set between 25,000 to 30,000 INR in India, positioning it within the mid-range smartphone market.

This launch is seen as a celebration of the community spirit among Nothing’s users, offering a unique, tech-forward device that stands out in the crowded smartphone market.

Realme 15 Pro Leak

The upcoming Realme 15 Pro 5G has been spotted in a leaked live image, giving us a closer look at its design and features before launch. The image, shared on social media, shows the phone in a stylish Velvet Green color with a leather-like back finish. It also confirms a brand-new camera design.

Instead of the round camera rings seen on previous Realme phones, the 15 Pro features a rectangular camera module. It includes two rear cameras, both with 50MP sensors – one for regular shots and the other for ultrawide photos. However, the phone doesn’t include a telephoto lens, which might be reserved for a more premium 15 Pro Plus model. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera embedded in the display.

The leaked image also reveals some major specifications. The Realme 15 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It also includes a huge 7,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, all packed into a slim 7.69mm thick body.

Realme has already teased several features, especially the display. The phone comes with a curved AMOLED screen offering a 144Hz refresh rate, 6,500 nits peak brightness, and a 94% screen-to-body ratio. The display also supports a 2,500Hz touch sampling rate and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

The Realme 15 Pro 5G will run Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15, and bring new AI-powered features such as:

  • AI Edit Genie – edit photos using voice commands
  • AI Gaming Coach 2.0 – assist users during gameplay
  • AI Ultra Touch Control – enhance gaming touch response

The phone will be available in four colors: Flowing Silver, Silk Purple, Velvet Green, and Silk Pink. It is expected to launch in India on July 24.

Nothing OS 4.0 Android 16

Nothing has officially hinted at the release of its upcoming major software update – Nothing OS 4.0, which will be based on Android 16. This update is expected to bring a fresh experience with new features, design improvements, and better performance across several Nothing smartphones.

The first sign of this update was spotted during the launch event of the Nothing Phone (3). A screen at the event showed the message: “Nothing OS 4.0 coming soon with Android 16.” This gave a clear hint that Nothing is preparing to roll out Android 16 in the coming months, starting with its newest phone.

According to sources and recent tweets, the Nothing Phone (3) will be the first device to get this update. The open beta version of Nothing OS 4.0 could be released in September 2025, followed by a stable rollout in October. This makes sense as Phone (3) is the company’s latest flagship device.

The Phone (3a) series and the Nothing Phone (2) are expected to receive the stable update in November, while the Phone (2a), Phone (2a) Plus, CMF Phone 1, and CMF Phone 2 Pro may get it between November and December. However, it is confirmed that the Nothing Phone (1) will not receive the Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 update.

Nothing OS 4.0 is expected to be a major update with significant changes. The quick settings panel may get a refreshed design, and users can expect smoother animations throughout the interface. The app drawer layout might also be improved. In addition, the update could bring new features to the Game Mode, making gaming more efficient and immersive.

One of the most exciting expected features is Live Alerts, introduced in Android 16. This will show real-time updates like delivery progress directly on the lock screen. With Nothing’s Glyph Interface and Glyph Matrix, users may also see a progress bar in the LED lights for tracking activities like food deliveries, app alerts, and more.

Nothing’s founder Carl Pei also tweeted about Android 16’s Live Alerts, stating that it opens up new possibilities for the Glyph system. This shows that the company is working on deeper integration between software and its signature hardware features.

In short, the update rollout will begin in autumn 2025, starting with Phone (3) in October, followed by other models. If you’re using a newer Nothing phone, you can expect the Android 16 update before the end of the year.

Stay connected for more updates and hands-on coverage as soon as the beta rolls out!
