YouTube Rolls Out Sleep Timer and Fine-Tuned Playback Speed for All Users

YouTube is rolling out some user feedback-based updates to enhance the experience of watching videos. Among them is a fine-tuning of playback speed. The days of a playback speed of only 0.25 speeds are gone. YouTube has refined playback speed in increments of 0.05 while having a maximum playback of 2x.
Similarly, YouTube is going to add its sleep timer feature for all users besides making it previously available to premium members. The sleep timer allows one to set up playback so that it automatically stops after ten, fifteen, twenty, thirty, or forty-five minutes, one hour, or the expiration of the current video.
Later this year, iOS will bring enhancements to browsing in landscape mode and allow users to resize and move the in-app miniplayer around. YouTube, the video giant, is also giving users the opportunity to create a collaborative playlist with choices for customizing thumbnails using their own pictures or generative AI. Voting for videos within the playlists will also arrive later this year.
Badges will come pretty fast for those using their mobile devices for YouTube or YouTube Music. However, these badges will in fact highlight accomplishments such as being one of the first paid members of a channel or being correctly quizzed.
Last but not least, YouTube on TV becomes even more “cinematic”, with so many pops of pink and subtle redesigns to help add even more dynamism. Visiting a creator’s channel page will begin playing a teaser video automatically when you arrive.
These updates are generally to further improve the overall experience for users, both mobile and TV, on YouTube.

iPhone 17 May Launch in New Colors: Purple and Green Under Testing

Apple is reportedly testing two new color options for its upcoming iPhone 17. According to a recent report, the company is working on Purple and Green versions of the regular iPhone 17. However, it seems that only one of these colors will be released. For now, Purple is said to be the leading choice.
In addition to this, Apple is also said to be considering a new Sky Blue color for the iPhone 17 Pro. This is likely aimed at bringing a fresh look to the Pro lineup.
While new colors always catch the attention of iPhone fans, many are even more excited about the expected display upgrades. Reports earlier this month suggested that both the iPhone 17 and the rumored iPhone 17 Air (which may replace the Plus model) will finally get 120Hz displays. However, these models are not expected to include ProMotion features, which will continue to be limited to the Pro versions.
Stay tuned as more details about the iPhone 17 series are likely to surface in the coming months.

Nothing India Announces Community Review Program for Phone (3) and Headphone (1)

Nothing India has announced an exciting new opportunity for tech enthusiasts across the country. The company has launched its Community Review Program for two of its most awaited products — the Nothing Phone (3) and the Headphone (1). The Phone (3) will be Nothing’s first true flagship smartphone, while the Headphone (1) will mark the brand’s entry into over-ear headphones. With the launch just around the corner, this program gives creators a chance to experience these devices before anyone else.
Selected participants in the program will receive one of these devices on loan. They will get the chance to test the product and create in-depth reviews for the Nothing Community as well as for their own social media followers. This is a great opportunity for creators to showcase their photography, videography, or writing skills while sharing honest feedback about these new gadgets with other tech fans.
To apply for the program, you must be an Indian resident aged 18 years or older. You should be a fan of the Nothing brand and excited about reviewing new products. Participants will need to keep the product details private until launch and sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). It’s also important to follow the deadlines and embargo dates set by Nothing to ensure information about the devices is shared at the right time.
There are a few key conditions to keep in mind. The review devices will be provided on a loan basis, meaning they must be returned after the review period ends. However, you will not need to pay any shipping charges for delivery or return — Nothing will handle that. The program is open only to Indian nationals living in India, and it applies only to the Phone (3) and Headphone (1).
If you’re interested in being part of this program, you can fill out the application form now. The last date to apply is 1st July 2025 at 6:00 PM IST. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.

Nothing Headphone (1): Hands-On Photos and Features Leak Before Launch

Nothing is getting ready to launch its first over-the-ear headphones, called Nothing Headphone (1). These new headphones will be unveiled on July 1, alongside the Nothing Phone (3).
We now have the best look yet at the Nothing Headphone (1) as someone leaked it. As expected from Nothing, the design is different from other headphones.

The standout feature is the two-part earcup design. The top part is an oval-shaped module covered in transparent plastic, sitting on a metallic plate with squared corners. This design is very different from the smooth, round look of other popular headphones like Sony’s WH-1000XM6 or Apple’s AirPods Max.

Some hands-on photos have also appeared online. The real-life images show the headphones with two buttons on the side and one button on the outer earcup. We can also see a 3.5mm cable attached, which means the headphones will support wired connections as well as wireless.

One exciting detail is that the audio of the Headphone (1) will be tuned by KEF, a well-known British company famous for its high-quality speakers and headphones.
There is no detailed information yet about the technical features, but pricing has leaked. The Nothing Headphone (1) is expected to cost $299 in the US, €299 in Europe and Rs. 19,000-Rs. 20,000. Sales are likely to begin on September 30, about two months after the official launch. Buyers will be able to choose between Black and White colors.
Akis, Co-founder of Nothing, said on X (formerly Twitter) that the Headphone (1) will launch in India at the same time as the global launch.
