Nothing OS 5.0 beta coming

Nothing OS 5.0 Beta Could Be Coming Soon for Nothing Phone (3) Users

Nothing appears to be preparing a major software release for its Phone (3), and it could potentially be the first step toward Nothing OS 5.0.

The company has opened applications for a new software review program, inviting selected Nothing Phone (3) users to test and review unreleased software before it becomes publicly available.

While Nothing has not officially mentioned Nothing OS 5.0 by name, the timing and details of the program strongly suggest that a major software update could be involved.

Nothing Phone (3) users can apply

Unlike Nothing’s previous product review programs, this time the company says the program will focus specifically on software.

According to Nothing, applicants should own a Nothing Phone (3) and have an interest or expertise in software and user experience. Selected participants will be expected to provide regular feedback to Nothing while testing the software.

The company has also warned that the software is in beta and could be unstable, meaning some features may not work as expected.

Participants will also need to follow Nothing’s embargo dates and deadlines and maintain strict information security before the software is publicly released.

Could this be Nothing OS 5.0 Beta?

Nothing hasn’t confirmed the version number of the software being tested.

However, this could be an early Nothing OS 5.0 Beta program, especially considering that Nothing has previously started testing major OS releases through community-focused programs.

The company is asking selected participants to share their first impressions on the Nothing Community and their social media channels, followed by a full review after the software has launched.

Participants will also be encouraged to create interesting and creative content around the software and its features.

If this is indeed Nothing OS 5.0, the program could give us an early glimpse at the company’s next major software experience.

NDA and IMEI required

Nothing says that being accepted into the program does not guarantee participation.

Selected users will be contacted via email and will be required to sign an NDA before gaining access to the software. They will also need to provide their device’s IMEI number.

This indicates that Nothing is treating the software as confidential pre-release material and wants to ensure that participants do not publicly reveal information before the official launch.

Applications close on August 17

Applications for the software review program are currently open and will close on August 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM BST.

Only Nothing Phone (3) owners who meet the requirements can apply.

The company has also issued an important warning regarding the beta software. Since it is pre-release software, it could interfere with user data and may require a factory reset. Nothing strongly recommends backing up all important data before installing and using the software.
