Primewood Genesis Mode: The Big New Event Theme in BGMI 4.2

The main highlight of BGMI 4.2 is the new themed mode called Primewood Genesis. This mode transforms familiar battleground locations into green, nature-filled zones featuring special loot, unique powers, and intense combat situations.

These themed areas are expected to offer high rewards, but they will also attract heavy early-game action, making them extremely risky but exciting.

Key Features Coming with Primewood Genesis Mode

BGMI 4.2 introduces multiple new elements inside the event mode that change how players move, fight, and survive.

One of the most interesting additions is the Tree of Life, a massive tree placed in Pochinki, designed for dynamic movement and tactical positioning during fights. Another new interactive element is the Corrupting Flower, a poisonous red plant that turns players into green smoke, creating fresh strategies for escape and survival.

The update also adds Cross Cultivation, where players can plant seeds that grow into magical fruits. Certain golden fruits can grant powerful abilities such as bulletproof jackets and even teammate revival, giving squads major advantages in combat.

Players will also get a new companion — a “Groot-like” ally — which can assist in protection and revival. Along with that, the game introduces two new transport options: the Thorn Scorpion and Cherry Blossom Deer.

Another big highlight is Flora Wings, a new feature that allows players to fly, bringing a completely different layer of movement to the battleground.

Finally, BGMI 4.2 adds a tactical item called Prime Eye, which unlocks special abilities like Barrier, Teleport, Heal, and Corrupting Flower-based powers.

BGMI 4.2 Gameplay Enhancements and Improvements

Apart from new content, BGMI 4.2 also delivers important gameplay upgrades aimed at improving player experience.

In this update, parachutes can now be opened closer to the ground, which may change landing strategies and early-game rush moments. Players will also benefit from automatic reconnection, meaning the game can reconnect if Wi-Fi suddenly drops mid-match.

Additionally, KRAFTON is improving gyroscope controls for smoother aiming and better gunplay. A new cooperative feature is also included — cooperative climbing mechanics, which allows teammates to boost one another onto higher spots for better positioning.

Metro Royale Mode Updates in BGMI 4.2

Metro Royale is also getting new content and upgrades with this update. The highlight addition is the Glacix Arbiter, described as a powerful melee weapon.

Along with that, players will see Vine Crates, which are expected to contain high-value loot, and a new challenge called the Mutated Plant Boss, adding fresh PvE action inside Metro Royale.

Weapon Balance Changes in BGMI 4.2

BGMI 4.2 also includes weapon balancing adjustments. Popular assault rifles such as the AKM and M762 are receiving damage buffs, making them even more lethal in close to mid-range fights.

On the other hand, shotguns are expected to see slight reductions, likely to balance out their dominance in certain combat situations.

WhatsApp Tests New Instagram Reels Shortcut for Android Users

Published

on

Whatsapp Reels option

WhatsApp is testing a new shortcut that makes sharing Instagram Reels directly in chats easier. The feature adds a dedicated Reels button to the chat attachment menu, allowing users to quickly find and share Instagram content without navigating through multiple menus.

The feature was spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.42.9 and is currently rolling out to some beta testers.

WhatsApp Adds a Dedicated Reels Button

Previously, users who linked their WhatsApp account to Meta’s Accounts Center could access Instagram Reels through the media picker. However, finding the option required opening the picker and selecting Instagram from the source list.

With the new shortcut, users can tap the Reels button directly from the chat attachment menu to open a dedicated interface for browsing and sharing content.

Recent, Saved and Liked Reels

The new interface includes three tabs:

  • Recent: Reels recently watched on Instagram.
  • Saved: Reels saved by the user.
  • Liked: Reels liked by the user.

Users can browse these sections and select content to share in WhatsApp chats. The interface also reportedly provides access to posts.

Availability

The shortcut requires users to link their WhatsApp account to Meta’s Accounts Center. This integration remains optional, so users who prefer to keep their accounts separate can continue using WhatsApp without connecting them.

The feature is rolling out gradually to Android beta testers through the Google Play Store. WhatsApp has not yet announced when the dedicated Reels shortcut will become available to all users.
