Nothing OS Update Roadmap

Nothing Introduces Official Update Roadmap, Teases Nothing OS 5.0

Nothing has officially introduced a new software update roadmap to make it easier for users to track software rollouts, feature availability, and app updates across its devices.

The new roadmap was shared on the Nothing Community forum and will be regularly updated as new software releases and features become available.

Nothing OS 4.1 Rollout Now Complete

According to Nothing, the Nothing OS 4.1 rollout is now complete for all eligible devices. This includes supported Nothing Phone and CMF Phone models that have already received the latest update.

However, the company has confirmed that some features introduced with Nothing OS 4.1 are currently available only on selected devices such as Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro.

Missing Nothing OS 4.1 Features Coming Soon

Nothing says that several features will start expanding to more devices from the end of June. These include:

  • Lock Screen Clock Face Customization
  • Lock Screen Depth Effect Wallpapers
  • Breathing Practice Widget
  • Glyph Matrix Breathing Widget
  • Flip to Glyph Improvements
  • Updated Nothing Ecosystem Icons for Earbuds and Headphones

The company explained that some features require additional optimization, stability testing, and hardware compatibility checks before being released to more devices.

The rollout is expected to begin from the end of June, although availability may vary depending on the device.

Essential Voice Still Limited to Select Devices

Nothing also shared an update regarding Essential Voice. The feature is currently available on selected devices, including Phone (3), Phone (4a Pro), and Phone (4a).

Since Essential Voice relies on cloud-based processing, the company is still evaluating performance, scalability, and user experience before expanding it to more devices.

App Updates Will Continue Through Play Store

Nothing reminded users that some features are delivered through app updates instead of full operating system updates.

Apps such as Essential Space, Essential Search, Nothing Gallery, Nothing Widgets, and Nothing X can receive new features and improvements directly through the Google Play Store.

This means users may receive certain new features without waiting for a major Nothing OS update.

New Firmware Updates Bot

The company has also highlighted its Firmware Updates Bot, which allows users to track the latest software releases, changelogs, fixes, and firmware updates for Nothing and CMF products.

This should make it easier for users to stay updated on both major and minor software releases.

Nothing OS 5.0 Officially Teased

One of the biggest highlights of the roadmap is the first official mention of Nothing OS 5.0.

Nothing confirmed that the next major version of its software is already taking shape. While the company has not revealed any specific features yet, it stated that more information will be shared when the time is right.

This serves as the first official tease for Nothing OS 5.0 and suggests that development is already underway.

The new software roadmap is a positive step for Nothing users, as it brings greater transparency around update rollouts and feature availability.

With missing Nothing OS 4.1 features expected to arrive from the end of June and Nothing OS 5.0 already in development, the coming months could be exciting for Nothing Phone and CMF users.
