Nothing Phone 2 Camera Preset Update

Nothing has started rolling out the Nothing OS 3.2 September update for the Nothing Phone (2). The new update comes with a download size of 161 MB and also includes the September 2025 Android security patch.

Note: Nothing has provided the September 2025 security patch, but the changelog mentions August. Later, this was fixed.

One of the key highlights of this update is the addition of Camera Presets. Users can now access ready-to-use presets in the Camera app, such as Soft Focus, Black & White Film, Wide Angle, and Lenticular. These presets allow users to capture professional-looking photos instantly without much editing. The update also makes it possible to import presets from other Nothing devices, including the Phone (3), by scanning a QR code. In addition, users can create and share their own presets with others.

The update further improves the camera experience by making the Nothing Gallery the default app for photo previews. Users can still choose Google Photos if they prefer.

Apart from camera improvements, the update introduces new features for widgets. Both the Pedometer and Screen Time widgets now support sharing with friends. The Photo widget also gains new sticker reactions, giving users more ways to interact when sharing images.

On the system side, Nothing has fixed several bugs and made stability improvements. Issues with hotspot connections, PDF viewing in cloned apps, and font display errors in Instagram have been resolved. The update also optimizes battery usage when connecting smartwatches and improves overall network connection stability.

However, the much-talked-about “Stretch” camera preset, created in collaboration with photographer Jordan Hemingway, appears to be missing in this release. Nothing may release it separately in the future.

Overall, the OS 3.2 update adds useful new features and performance improvements, making it a recommended upgrade for all Nothing Phone (2) users.

One of the most notable changes in this update is the introduction of the Nothing Gallery app as the default photo viewer in the camera app. Users now get the option to choose between Nothing Gallery and Google Photos, but the company recommends using its own gallery for faster previews and smoother performance. This move highlights Nothing’s efforts to strengthen its in-house ecosystem.

The update also adds new features to widgets. Along with the Photo widget, users can now share the Pedometer widget (step counter) and the Screen Time widget with others. The update further enhances interaction by introducing a set of new nine stickers that can be used to react when sharing widgets, giving users more expressive options.

In terms of the camera, Nothing claims to have improved stability and performance. The camera app version has been upgraded, and users may notice slight differences in colors and sharpness, particularly in ultra-wide shots. These refinements are aimed at delivering a more reliable photography experience on the Phone (2a).

The update also addresses several system issues and optimizations. Stability for the pop-up view feature has been improved, and a bug that prevented PDF files from opening in cloned apps like WhatsApp and Telegram has been fixed. The Voice over NR (VoNR) icon has been redesigned for better clarity in the status bar. In addition, battery usage has been optimized when connecting smartwatches, especially with the CMF Watch 2 Pro.

Other improvements include fixes for font display issues in apps such as Instagram and Reddit when using the Inter font, along with general system performance and stability enhancements.

Overall, the Nothing OS 3.2 September Update brings useful new features, smoother performance, and important fixes. For Nothing Phone (2a) users, installing this update is highly recommended to get the best experience on their device.
