Nothing has announced that the Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition will launch globally on December 9, 2025, at 13:00 GMT (6:30 PM IST). The reveal was confirmed through a teaser on X, featuring the brand’s trademark quirky visuals and several hidden easter eggs.
The company has hinted that this will be its most expressive and colorful device yet. The final design is widely expected to be based on “Translucent Memories”, the winning concept created by Emre Kayganacı. This design introduces a turquoise transparent back paired with yellow volume buttons and a pink Essential Key—marking a bold shift from Nothing’s traditional minimalist look. Nothing even teased these colors earlier using a “Shiny” Pokémon Arcanine, matching the same palette.
How This Project Began
The Phone (3a) Community Edition project started back in March, shortly after the Phone (3a) series launched. Nothing invited creators, developers, and fans worldwide to help design a special variant of the device from scratch. After nine months of community input and competition, the final version is now ready to debut.
Availability details remain unclear, especially for the Indian market. But if Nothing follows the same approach as last year’s Phone (2a) Community Edition, the device will likely be limited edition, aimed mainly at collectors and fans.
More information will be revealed on December 9, when Nothing showcases the outcome of giving its community creative control.
